A 28-year-old Hood County resident was arrested and booked into jail on two felony charges after Hood County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an address on Killough Road at about 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 2, according to information in a news release from Lt. Joshua Lane.

Lane’s release states that Michael Darric Fountain “reportedly assaulted his wife (age 28) by choking her and his mother-in-law (age 68) by grabbing her by the arms and pushing leaving visible injuries on both involved. Based on information, probable cause was established and (Fountain) was charged / booked into the Hood County Jail for Assault Family Member Impede Breathing / Circulation,” a third-degree felony ($20,000 bond), “and Injury to Elderly,” a state jail felony ($10,000 bond).

Lane also noted that Fountain “is still in the Hood County Jail at this time.”
