The Hood County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 36-year-old Fort Worth man who is accused of stabbing his 48-year-old brother, according to Lt. Johnny Rose.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on Sprester Court in a housing development known as Prairie Creek south of Tolar at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, Rose stated in an email to the HCN on Jan. 21.

“Deputies discovered James Estrada Jr. allegedly stabbed his 48-year-old brother in the neck and shoulder,” Rose stated. “Estrada fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle and the victim was able to walk to a neighbor’s house to call 911. The neighbors rendered first-aid and assisted the victim by stopping the serious bleeding.”

Rose noted that the stabbing victim was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for medical treatment. He was released on Jan. 18.

“The Hood County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking for Estrada, who has a family violence aggravated assault with deadly weapon warrant (first-degree felony charge) and aggravated robbery warrant (first-degree felony charge),” Rose stated. “If anyone knows the whereabouts of Estrada, please call Hood County Crime Stoppers at 817-573-TIPS. Estrada is considered dangerous, so don’t approach him if located. The case is still under investigation by the Hood County Sheriff’s Office.”
