Shahan posts win No. 100 as GHS head volleyball coach

Desiree Shahan reached 100 victories as the head coach of the Granbury High School Lady Pirates last weekend while the team was competing in Argyle High School’s tournament.

The Lady Pirates won the Silver Bracket title there, and along the way senior Sara Welch also recorded her 1,500^th career assist. Shahan became the Lady Pirates’ head coach in 2018, and had been an assistant coach at GHS starting in 2015.

The Lady Pirates’ varsity features six seniors, three juniors and four sophomores. The Lady Pirates were eliminated by Colleyville Heritage in the Class 5A playoffs to end last season with a 19-6 record last November.
