Lipan stumbles in first game of area softball series

Posted

Lipan garnered eight hits, but they didn’t translate into the number of runs the Lady Indians needed in a 10-4 game one loss on Friday against Muenster at Godley High School.

The two teams meet again Monday/today in Boyd to decide the three-game series for an area softball title. The first pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. at Boyd High School.

Lipan starter Neali Overton braved her way against a formidable batting lineup that generated 14 hits and 10 runs over seven innings. Overton struck out four batters.

Abby Clyburn and Overton came up with two hits each for Lipan, while Ashlyn Clark, Jolee Tuggle, Dawson Oliver and Cade Davis had one.

Paxton Murry and Oliver had an RBI each for the Lady Indians.
