Pirates slip in area-round baseball playoff series opener, 8-7

The Granbury Pirates held a 7-6 lead over Mansfield Timberview before giving up one run in the sixth inning and one run in the eighth as the Wolves posted an 8-7 win Thursday night (May 13) in the opening game of their Class 5A area baseball playoff series. The second game of the series will be Friday (May 14) at 7 p.m. at Tidwell Field in Granbury. If a third game is needed, it would be played at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at Cleburne High School.
