Rattlers demolish Marlin, 71-18, advancing to regional playoff round

Tolar High School’s Rattlers overwhelmed Marlin by a 71-18 margin Thursday night at Multi-Purpose Stadium in Crowley in their Class 2A Division I football playoff game, advancing to next week’s regional playoff round.

In their third-round playoff game next week, the ­12-0 Rattlers will take on the winner of tonight’s (Friday, Nov. 18) area playoff game between Axtell and Hamilton. The time, date and location for the regional playoff game will be announced at a later time.

In their huge win over Marlin, the Rattlers’ sophomore running back Peyton Brown turned in another incredible performance, scoring five rushing touchdowns. Tolar quarterback Jackson LeCluyse threw three TD passes, including two caught by Matthew Behrens.

Head coach Jeremy Mullins has led the District 5-2A Division I Rattlers to the best 12-game record in the school’s 11-man football history.
