Hail pummels Tidwell Field at Granbury High School as parents and student take shelter under the stands. A severe thunderstorm forced the cancellation of the Granbury and Azle high schools baseball game at Tidwell Field in Granbury, Texas, Monday, May 3, 2021.
"The real imminent danger for Tidwell Field was the hail and heavy rain that was approaching," David said.
Parents and students took shelter under the stands, and the game was postponed until a later date while heavy rain and hail passed over downtown.
The storm eventually created damage at the Brazos drive-in and a church east of Granbury.
Repairs are underway at a Granbury church that sustained damage from severe storms Monday night.
According to Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds, their office received reports of damage from the church along with an outdoor theater along Pearl Street. No weather-related injuries were reported to his office Monday night, Deeds said.
