Theft of firearms is Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week

Hood County Crime Stoppers and the Hood County Sheriff’s Office are seeking help in solving the theft of firearms from a vehicle.

On. Jan. 17, 2021, an unknown person or persons, without the consent of the owner, broke into a recreational vehicle in the 100 block of South Kickapoo Street in Lipan and took items not belonging to them.

The items taken included: an ARG bolt action rifle with wooden stock caliber 7.62 X 59 (serial number unknown), valued at approximately $800; a .410-caliber pump-action shotgun with a wooden stock (serial number and model unknown), valued at approximately $300; a .22-caliber Peacemaker style pistol (serial number and model unknown), valued at approximately $300; a large cardboard box filled with miscellaneous ammunition, valued at approximately $1,000.

All Crime Stoppers tips remain anonymous. Upon arrest and indictment, you could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
