Tip-A-Cop fundraiser set for next month

Tuesday, May 14, 2019

Granbury’s police officers protect and serve, but on Tuesday, June 11, the emphasis will be on serving.

From 5 to 9 p.m. that day, officers will work as wait-staff at Grump’s during the annual Tip-A-Cop fundraiser.

Proceeds benefit the Gran-bury Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, an organization that supports the Granbury Police Department.

Members of the alumni group will do their part by refilling drinks, serving as kitchen help and working cleanup, according to Public Information Officer Bethany Warner.

Those who attend the event will be able to purchase a meal for $8. The meal will consist of a hamburger or cheeseburger, french fries and a drink (water, tea or soda).

Of course, tips are appreciated and are what the event is all about.

Members of the Granbury Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association work to support and improve the relationship between the police department and the community.

Its member volunteers provide services such as manning intersections during parades and helping with community appreciation events.
