Visit Granbury announces Christmas carriage rides

Posted

It may not be a one-horse open sleigh, but a Christmas carriage ride through Granbury’s charming historic district is probably guaranteed to be every bit as fun.

Visit Granbury has announced that Eagle Eye Ranch Carriage Company based out of Dinosaur Valley State Park near Glen Rose is offering horse-drawn carriage rides around the Granbury square this holiday season.

The company’s experienced carriage operators specialize in photo shoots, romantic occasions, weddings, parades, family reunions and other special occasions.

Carriage rides in Granbury will be available from Friday, Dec. 2 through Monday, Dec. 26.

Each carriage ride lasts about 15-20 minutes. Blankets are recommended.

Two carriages are available.

A four-passenger white carriage called the “Vis-a-Vis” is for family members, romantic couples, or date nights with friends.

“The Wagonette” is perfect for larger families or small groups. It can hold up to eight people.

On most days, carriage rides are offered every half hour from 6-8:30 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 11 ride times begin at 4 p.m.

Carriages are booked and priced as a whole and not per person.

Reservations can be booked online at visitgranbury.com or at eercc.com.

Visit Granbury Director Tammy Dooley said that Christmas in Granbury “is magical” with “holiday lights, gorgeous, decorated trees on the square, events, theater, exceptional dining and lodging and now, to add to the experience, carriage rides on the square.”
