Wylie man dies in rollover crash

A 44-year-old man with a Wylie, Texas, address died as a result of a single-vehicle rollover as he was driving in the 1400 block of Highway 377 East shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, according to Granbury, police.

The driver and lone occupant of the 2003 Ford F-150 pickup, Larry Quinn Lee, was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace, Granbury Police Deputy Chief Cliff Andrews said.

Andrews said that the pickup first struck the guardrail just past the Business 377 exit and rolled over “several times” as it rolled down a steep hill off the roadway. Lee was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the westbound vehicle.

No other vehicles were believed to be involved, Andrews noted. The 911 call reporting the crash was received at 12:53 a.m. on April 25.

The westbound lanes had to be closed for a time after the crash.

Andrews said that investigators are not certain whether Lee overcorrected after his vehicle hit the guardrail, or fallen asleep, or if some other factor may have contributed to the crash. An autopsy has been requested.
