Barbara Joan Stevenson passed away quietly at the Community Hospice of Texas at Huguley. She was born July 29, 1939 in Memphis, TN. Early in her career, Barbara worked for American Airlines as a flight attendant. While abroad, she discovered gourmet food which became her passion. She attended a culinary school in Paris, France, then it was onto opening up her own restaurant business with her partner Kay Collerain in Granbury, which they operated together for 39 years. During this period, she became an avid supporter of rescued animals. Many of her friends can attest to her persuasion to adopt cats, dogs and horses. She loved them all. Barbara loved the Fort Worth Symphony and was a season ticket holder for 38 years. She is survived by Cathy Hoxie, business partner and friend Kay Collerain, cousin Jim For-man, brother-in-law Tommy Eubanks and his wife Donnie. She was preceded in death by her parents Cliff and Helen Kress. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 22nd, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the home of Kay Collerain, 202 S. Crockett ST., Granbury, Texas. Private interment will be at the City Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
