Betty Waters

Betty Jo Waters, was born October 1, 1922, in Shawnee, OK. She was the youngest of five children born to William Madison Witt and Florence Ellen Hughes Witt. She died peacefully at the age of 96 on April 19, 2019, in Granbury, TX.

Betty moved to Fort Worth in 1924. She graduated from Paschal High School in 1940. Betty married Geoffrey (Jeff) Waters December 12, 1942. They were married for 68 years until his death in 2010.

Betty was grateful for God’s love and provision for her throughout her life. She described her life as “A Wonderful Life, blessed with two daughters, the best of son-in-laws, four grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many good friends.” She and Jeff enjoyed serving the Lord and were faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Granbury.

Betty was known for her sweet spirit and godly example to her family and all her knew her.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna Yarbrough and husband Jack Yarbrough, daughter, Sunnye Rigby and husband Mike Rig-by; grandchildren, David Yarbrough and wife Leslie, Jeffrey Yarbrough and wife Lisa, Will Rigby and wife Melinda, Amy Wiles and husband Eamonn; great-grandchildren Zachary Yarbrough, Jaxson Yarbrough, Caden Yarbrough, Chaney Yarbrough, Waylon Rigby, Hadley Wiles, Nolan Rigby, Clara Wiles; and many nieces and nephews.

Service: Monday, April 29 at 2 p.m., First Baptist Church Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Granbury.
