Billy Alvin Green
Billy Alvin Green was born on June 3rd, 1949 in Stephenville, TX to James A. Green and Mildred Tidwell. He unexpectedly passed from this life on March 23rd, 2019 in Fort Worth, TX at the age of 69.
After high school, Billy joined the United States Army where he served six years in Vietnam as a Tank Commander, Drill Sergeant, Military Police, and Sniper. He was one of the most highly decorated veterans in our country and completed 51 of 54 sniper missions.
While serving in the Army in 1971, he met the love of his life Nancy Sue Barnes and married her on January 22nd, 1972. They had three beautiful children Jo Ann, Billy, and Toni.
He is a former resident of Granbury and served the cities of Granbury, Clifton, and Mansfield, Texas as a Police Officer. Billy was such an amazing man, he even served the Lord as an ordained minister, pastor, associate pastor, elder, and deacon. He later retired as a long-haul truck driver in Fort Worth Texas.
Billy was a devoted member of Eden Blessing Tabernacle the Church of the New Beginnings. He enjoyed playing 42, Texas Hold’em, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sherrey Hibdon.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of 47 years, daughter Jo Ann Wall, son Billy A. Green Jr. and wife Melony, daughter Toni Kane, his brother Jimmy Green and wife Eldora, stepmother Nadine Green and sister Lovenia Courtney. His surviving grandchildren are Stephen Wall, Alicia Mehring and wife Tina, Luke Wall, Kierston Green, Ryan Green and wife Brooklyn, Clinton Green, Pamela Green, Billy A. Green III and Justin Green. Followed by three great-grandchildren: Logan Wall, Kayden Green, and Leon Wall and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
