Clyde E. "Sonny" Deckard, 93, took his long flight on Thursday; July 23, 2020. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 6 PM Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Martins Funeral Home in Granbury. Graveside service will be held at Holly Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 11AM on Monday, July 27, 2020.
Clyde (Sonny) Deckard was born in Whitney, TX. on December 6, 1926. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force for a total of 21 years. He retired in May 1968 and was later employed with the USDA for 10 years before retiring in 1976. His military career took him to countries such as Japan, Greece, Korea, England and Spain. He was a member of the Granbury Good Sam's.
Sonny is survived by his wife of (60) years, Frankie Deckard; daughter, Belinda and husband Mike Hanley; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a brother, Joe Frank Cuthbertson of Brownsboro, TX.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and a step-daughter.
