Darlene Tomlinson Hiler

Hood County native Darlene Tomlinson Hiler died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 in Dallas after a short illness.

She was 62.

Darlene, a sweet soul, loved nature and animals, and enjoyed tending to her family farm. She loved photographing sunsets and wildflowers, and had an impressive collection of angels and crosses. She also liked to draw, paint and research genealogy.

She also enjoyed baking (her desserts were frequently requested).

Darlene was born on April 19, 1956 in Cleburne, reared in Hood County and graduated from Granbury High School in 1974.

She was part owner of Tomlinson Home Health and Hospice.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Hiler, of Gran-bury; a son, Cody Hiler, and Alex McCain; and a daughter, Kari Williams, and Curry Williams.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Reba Tomlinson; and a sister, Teresa Graham.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Case Western Reserve University ( or Alzheimer’s Association (

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
