Doyle "Ray"Pierce, 73 of Granbury passed away July 15, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial honoring Ray will be held on August 4, 2019 , 3:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 910 Paluxy Hwy in Granbury.
He was born April 1, 1946 in Jacksboro, Tx to Wallace Lee and Josie Elizabeth Pierce. He was raised in Bowie, where he was a member of Southside Baptist Church in his younger years. He worked as a welder, heavy equipment mechanic and a truck driver. He enjoyed working, fishing, attending car shows and spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Four brothers - Jim, Donnie, and Larry Sutton, and Tommy Pierce; Sister- Linda Shipman; Nephew- Ray Wayne Pierce; and Grandson Josh Tillery.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years Sue Lynn Davis Pierce of Granbury;
Children - Carol Howard of Houston, Teresa Gentry and husband Jerry of Palmdale, Ca, Scottie Pierce of Bowie, Landree Turner and husband Kevin of Granbury, and Bray Pierce and future daughter -n-law Rainey Holtzinger of Granbury; Sister- Sylvia Hutto of Bowie; Brothers - Wally Pierce and wife Cindy of Montague, and Jack Pierce and wife Kyra of Bowie; Aunt Ava Beaver of Bowie. He was also dearly loved by his In-law's Leon and Debbie Davis, Brenda and Jim Elrod, Lisa and Larry Avery, Heather Dupre, Steven Lowrance, all of Granbury, and James and Joyce Avery of Colorado. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
