E. A. Merrill, 79, of Stephenville, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2019 in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 18th, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Chalk Mountain Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

E. A. was born on July 11, 1940, in Mont Belvieu, Texas to the late Archie Enoch and Aline Aletha Brown Merrill. He married Clara Ellen Wilkinson on September 8, 1962 in Kountze, Texas. Clara preceded him in death on October 21, 2008. E. A. was a member of Elm Grove Assembly of God. He was a member of the Stephenville Bass Club, he loved the outdoors, and spent much of his past time fishing. E. A. was in the construction business as an insulator and a member of the Union Local 21. He lived in Stephenville since 1981.

E. A. is survived by his children, Mark Merrill, Barry and wife Donna Merrill, Wes and wife Ann Merrill, Ellen Merrill, Laura and husband Dwayne Harms, Mary and husband Randy Staples, and Stephen Merrill; grandchildren, Richard, Courtleigh, Emily, John, Camille, Bryan, Ashley, Joanna, Jaime, Samuel, Susanna, Cole, Ethan, Jacob, Owen, Hunter, Jeremiah, and Haley; and great grandchildren, Kyrian, McKenzie, Zerach, Eden, Jacob, Henry, and when she arrives in October, Le´na; brothers, Robert and wife Mary Merrill and Emmett Merrill; and sister-in-laws, Betty Jo Merrill and Elaine 'Nanie' Merrill.

Besides his parents, and wife, Clara; he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton and James Edward Merrill; and a sister, Rita Mae Merrill.
