Harley Gene Murray, 82, passed away Saturday June 8, 2019 in Granbury. Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Granbury.
Harley was born May 23, 1937 in Carbon, Texas, the first of three boys of Leon and Bonnie Murray. He married Louise Brandon on January 31, 1964 in Corpus Christi and they were married for 55 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy retiring after 20 years. Harley had a second career as an artist and formed the group known as "Texas Wild Bunch"in the 80s and 90s and had a third career as a cabinet finisher. He loved to make people laugh and was best known for his storytelling. Harley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Aubrey Murray.
Survivors: Wife, Louise Murray; sons, Ron Reese and wife Leslie, Robert Murray and wife Jana; daughter, Sharon Owens; grandchildren, Trevor, Amber, Megan, Dylan and Rhiannon; great granddaughter, Lorelai; brother, Bob Murray and wife Cheryl; sister-in-law, Lynn Murray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
