Joe Don Lewis

Joe Don Lewis passed away peacefully on November 6th from Lewy body dementia at home in Granbury, Texas.

Born October 6th, 1939 in Coolidge, Texas, Joe Don was an adventurous man who thrived on adrenaline, racing cars and motorcycles throughout his life. His true passion was competitive drag boat racing. Known on the circuit as Hi Tek – Red Neck, he was notorious for keeping the other drivers continually supplied with margaritas and laughter.

He explored numerous careers throughout his life, but he eventually became a concrete contractor and ran his own business for several years.

Joe Don is survived by his wife, two brothers, a sister, three children, two stepdaughters, and a number of grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, two sons, a stepson, and his parents.

A celebration of Joe Don’s life will be held Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Wiley Funeral Home chapel in Granbury, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Interim Hospice Care, the American Cancer Society, or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

If possible, have a beer or a margarita in his memory. He would have wanted that!
