Larry William Wolf

Larry William Wolf, age 79, died on August 10, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. Larry was born on November 9, 1939, in Marion, Wisconsin, to William F. and Esther E. (Jeske) Wolf. He was a graduate of Marion High School in Marion, Wisconsin, and Indiana University (B.S. in Business).

Preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Audrey E. Kriesel. Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pearl E. (Eiserle) Wolf; his daughter, Sandra L. Rapp (Douglas) (OH); his son, David W. (TX); his grandson, Christopher D. Rapp (OH); his brothers, Ronald R. (Peggy) (WI) and Douglas W. Wolf (Karen) (WI).

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran of the 101st Airborne Division ("Screaming Eagles") and earned his Parachutist Badge and Good Conduct Medal. He had a long and successful career working for General Motors, Electronic Data Systems and consulting in data processing and data center management. Larry was awarded the Apollo Achievement Award from NASA for his work with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the Apollo 11 Space Program. Larry earned his private pilot's license, played golf all over the world, was an avid reader and loved sports, especially his beloved Green Bay Packers and hunting and fishing with his fellow outdoorsmen friends and family. He volunteered his time as a member of the Elks Lodge and sports color announcer for a local radio station in Kokomo, Indiana, and with Equest, an organization partnering children and adults with diverse needs with horses in Wylie, Texas. Larry's love for life, storytelling, radio voice, quick wit and charm were well-known, adored and admired by all who knew him. He was the first one on the dance floor, the first to grab the karaoke mic, the first to open a present, the first at the hunting lease for opening season, the first to the meal table and the first to make you laugh and give you a hug. Larry was the life and the heart of the party.

Larry's family extends heartfelt thanks to all his loving and caring friends and family.

A memorial to celebrate Larry's life will be held at Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Hwy 377 East, Granbury, TX 76048, on Saturday, August 17th beginning at 11 am with a noon tribute. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
