Marlene S. Kyle
Marlene S. Kyle passed away January 5, 2019, at her home, the Granbury Villa, after a short hospital stay. She joined in heaven her parents, Rev. Walter and Mrs. Lois Scherbaum and their beloved family members. Marlene was born December 12, 1932 in Glenside, PA, the first of three daughters. Marlene grew up and attended schools first in Glenside, PA, Collinsgswood, NJ, and Dunbar, WV. She graduated from Alderson Broaddus School of Nursing in Phillipi, WV, with a B.S. and R.N. Later she earned a masters degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve School of Nursing in Cleveland, OH. She served in public health nursing in the Philadelphia area of Media, PA, where she owned a home and still has dear friends. Later she loved working night duty as charge nurse in a retirement-nursing home. She enjoyed a varied career in nursing, where she devoted herself to the care and service of others. She had a brief marriage to George Kyle. Marlene moved to Granbury in 2007, living at the Estates, then the Courtyards, as her health declined and finally home at the Villa. A service celebrating her life will be held there. She truly enjoyed her life in Granbury. Marlene is survived by two sisters, Aurilla Lesley of Louisville, KY, and Beverly Parks and husband John H. Parks of Granbury, TX., six nieces, five nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
