Mary "Evelyn" Howard was born in Comyn, Texas on April 3, 1931 and she passed away on May 18, 2020 in Granbury, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Caffey, two brothers, David and John Caffey, and five sisters, Morene, Ollie, Mildred, Louise and Pearl Caffey and her husband Bob Howard and daughter, Cynthia Howard Wellman. Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Joe Howard and wife Vicci of Whitney, Texas and Tom Howard and wife Carol of Granbury, Texas and son-in-law Mike Wellman of Wolford, Texas and brother-in-law Mike Howard and wife Martha of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff Howard and wife Carla, Spencer Howard, Kullen Howard, Jake Howard and wife Candace, Elise Looney and husband Travis, Sharon Mooney and husband John, and Tina Tonts and husband Nick and Leah Wellman, along with fifteen Great-Grandchildren.

Evelyn retired from public education after working as a teacher and counselor in school districts across Texas and was passionate about education and support for children and young adults. Evelyn so loved her children and adored her grandchildren and that was reciprocated by all. She found great joy being surrounded by her great-grandchildren and loved to be with her family. In her final years, Evelyn also found joy in her friends and her community at Quail Park and she was always ready for a game of dominoes and delighted in participating in the activities there. The family is extremely appreciative of the kindness and genuine care of the staff at Quail Park, as well as her friends there who surrounded her with their love and support.

The family will hold a private family memorial for Evelyn at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
