Maude Rundell Sartor

Maude Rundell Sartor, known since she was a small child as "Frog", passed away on August 1, 2019 at the age of 95 in Granbury, Texas.

Maude was born in Walnut Springs on December 5, 1923 to Leone and Theo Rundell. She married the love of her life, Raymond Watkins Sartor, on November 24, 1948. Raymond preceded Maude in death on September 4, 1998 just shy of their 50th anniversary. They loved to travel, play bridge, and golf. Maude graduated from Walnut Springs at 15 attended Tarleton State University where she received her teaching degree. After teaching one year she left teaching to pursue her Master's Degree in Dietetics from TWU and Iowa State Univ. She moved to New York City and attended Columbia University to work on her PHD until her father's heart attack. During WWII she worked as a Chemist to help with the war effort in Borger, TX. After the war she worked at Herman Memorial Hospital as a dietician under Margaret Sartor Saint who introduced her to her brother, Raymond. After marriage they lived in Houston, California, finally Dallas where they raised their three children. Later in life Maude went back into teaching where she taught Chemistry and Physics at Red Oak High School. Maude was an active member of the Acton United Methodist Church until her later years. She will be greatly missed by many.

Maude is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Watkins Sartor, her parents Leone and Theo Rundell, and her sister Arlene Ship. She leaves behind son TR Sartor, son David Sartor and wife Beth, daughter Susan Bruce and husband Pat, three granddaughters, Kim Campbell, Leslie Ross and husband Daniel, and Allison Stone and husband Cody, ten great-grandchildren Brittan Grace, Gage Campbell, Presley Grace, Gaston Campbell, Cohen Grace, Gabby Campbell, Easton Ross, Olivia Stone, Sutton Ross, and Luke Stone, numerous nieces and nephews, and her friend and caregiver, Deena James.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and the Funeral service will be Monday, August 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment will be at Russell Cemetery after the service.
