Ronald "Jean"Davis, Sr., 86, of Granbury passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Friends for Animals, located in Acton.

Jean was born April 2, 1933 in Venus, Texas to Vera and Thelma Lathan Davis. He graduated from Grandview High School in 1950. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 in the Field Artillery Gunnery Unit. He married M. Rose Daveau on September 3, 1963 in Fort Worth. Together, they raised two sons, Ronny and Rick. The Davis family moved to Granbury in 1970.

Jean was a fourth generation cattle raiser and farmer. He was well known for his support of and membership in the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. He constantly strived to improve all breed of cattle and he was a strong supporter of the Hood County 4H and FFA.

Jean was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him including his buddies, Jimmy, Biggette, GiGi, Cocoa, and Belle. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers in-law.

Jean is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Davis; sons: Ronny Davis and Rick Davis and his wife Sharon; grandchildren: Mandy Holderness and her husband Chris, Leeya Davis, Brennan Davis, Megan Longston and her husband Brian and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
