Roy Lee Peacock

Roy Lee Peacock passed Monday morning, November 19, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Gran-bury.

Roy was born in Johnstown, Texas on October 17, 1936 to Leroy and Ethel Webb Peacock. Roy graduated from Fort Worth Tech. High School in 1956. He went to work for General Electric Company in 1970, retiring in 1997.

Spending 27 years with GE, Roy was well known in his field as a Sr. Field Engineer, where he worked over a wide area of the Southwest. He loved his job where he was able to travel and made many lifelong friends.

Roy moved to Granbury in 1972, where he was instrumental in the building of the DeCordova Steam Plant in Lake Granbury. Roy met and married Betty in 1974 on September 6 in Cloud-croft, New Mexico and made their home in Granbury. Roy brought three children to this union, Dennis Charles, Donald Lee and Jerri Ann. Betty brought Carolyn Dianne. Of this blended family there are ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Christmas was Roy’s favorite time of year when every Christmas all of this family came together and rarely was anyone absent. Roy belonged to Triple Cross Cowboy Church where he loved to attend.

Every summer for the last twenty one years, Roy played golf in the mountains of Riodoso, New Mexico and made many friends there.

Roy is survived by his wife: Betty Peacock, children; Dennis Charles Peacock and wife Tracie, Donald Lee Peacock and wife Dee, Jerri Ann Goree and husband David and Carolyn Dianne Lewallen, grandchildren; Devone, Dustin, Christy Lynn, Cody James, DJ, Tanner, Tai Lea, Tia Marie, Denise, and Kyndel, and 11 great-grandchildren.
