Rudolph (Rudy) Anthony Ohnheiser, age 93, resident of Rockport, Texas, passed away June 25, 2019 in his home.

Rudy was born August 2, 1925 in Freyburg, Texas to Edmund and Anna (Grohman) Ohnheiser as the youngest of eight children. He served in the US Army in the Korean War. He married Doradeane Jourdan in 1960.

After his military service, he worked for Westinghouse in Houston until 1961 when he and Doradeane purchased a farm south of Temple. Rudy operated a dairy farm there for about 20 years. Later he built numerous custom homes in the Temple area. In 1996 he and Doradeane retired to Granbury and lived there about 15 years before moving to Rockport, Texas.

Rudy enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, playing with his dogs, and visiting with family and friends. He was an innovator --customizing farm implements to his own specifications-- and a very gifted craftsman.

Rudy is survived by Doradeane, his wife of 58 years, 4 daughters, 8 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. His children are Dr. Leighanne Glazener married to Lee Roy Glazener in Rockport, Kathleen Monroe married to Bruce Monroe in Argyle, Texas, Lynn San Filippo married to Dr Joe San Filippo in Dublin, California and Cindy Lech married to Patryk Lech in Portland, Oregon.

A celebration of Rudy's life is planned in Rockport in November. The family requests any memorial donations be sent to the FFA (Future Farmers of America) Scholarship Program at Texas FFA Foundation, 614 East 12th St, Austin, TX 78701.
