Ruth Baker

Posted

Ruth Baker, 83, passed away Thursday, June 13, at the Oaks of Granbury after a long courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. As was her nature, she never complained about what the illness did to her and was only concerned about its effects on others. Though PSP won this earthly battle, her strong faith and unselfish nature carried her through to meet her Lord and Savior with head held high. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and all who had the good fortune to know her.

Ruth was born October 19, 1935 in Gorman, TX to Lloyd and Lena Walker of Moran, TX. In 1954, she met the love of her life, Ned Baker, and they were married August 10, 1956. They were blessed with identical twin daughters November 23, 1958, followed by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Ned Baker of Granbury, daughters Debbie Benner and husband Bruce of Fort Worth and Theresa Mullins and husband Terry of Dallas, brother Prosper Walker and wife Alice of Belton, and sister Patsy Reid and husband Jerry of Cape Coral, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and an outstanding homemaker, hostess, and seamstress. She was a stabilizing influence on her family and all who knew her. We will all miss her beautiful smile.

A memorial and celebration of life will be at 11 am Friday, June 28th at Triple Cross Cowboy Church, 3470 Lipan Highway in Granbury with visitation beginning at 10. (casual/ comfortable dress). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Triple Cross Church (817.279.2470) or to CurePSP.org (800.457.4777).
