S. Dean Bowers

S. Dean Bowers, 88, died on October 18, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded by his loving family members.

Dean was born on July 14, 1931, in Alice, Texas, to Frame John Bowers and Mignon Brock Bowers. Dean is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, a proud member of the class of '52. Dean went on to have a successful career as an energy consultant - experiencing adventures across the world with the love of his life, Judy Bowers.

Dean was a giving man who loved his family, his wife, and Aggie football! Dean was a rare combination of someone who had a giving soul with a deep love for life and a firm understanding of what was important - living a life with those you love!

All of his life, Dean was an active, charitable individual. The last years of his life, Dean was active with the Hood County Historical Commission, served on the Resident Council Board at the Waterview, and served as a bilingual mentor at Brawner Intermediate School.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Judith McCoy Bowers, and his brothers, Frame J. Bowers, Jr., and David Alexander Bowers. Dean is survived by his sister, Cynthia Richards and her husband, Don Richards; his children, Keith Bowers, Douglas Bowers, Mignon Bowers Finch, and Carrie Bowers Miller; his grandchildren, Kathleen Kososki and her husband, Austin Kososki, Maura Applegate and her husband, Daniel Apple-gate, Erin Finch, Colleen Finch, Orrin Dean Miller, Mignon Miller, Gus Bowers, and Zoe Bowers; his sons-in-law, Kevin Finch and Ward Miller; and his daughters-in-law, Maura Bowers and Victoria Snively Bowers.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Holly Hills Memorial Park, 1900 FM 51, Granbury, Texas 76048. The Reverend Suzi Robertson of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd will officiate the service in Dean's honor. A reception will immediately follow the graveside service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury 817-573-3000. Flowers will be handled through Wiley Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
