Wade "Preston" Dollarhide, 91, of Tolar, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, May 22, 2020, Tolar Baptist Church with graveside to follow at Tolar Cemetery. Lie in State: 12 Noon - 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.

Preston was born on May 26, 1928 in Pine Valley, Oklahoma to Iris and Wade Preston Dollarhide, Sr. He graduated from Paschal High School, where he was in ROTC. He attended Arlington State College and he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Preston married Nelda Everitt on April 28, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas. He loved his family dearly and whenever they went on road trips, they were always singing.

Preston was sweet and he never said a bad word. He had a great sense of humor; he loved numbers and he counted everything. He was active in the Tolar community and he was on the Tolar School Board.

Preston worked at Mrs. Baird's Bread, and at RCA where he was a trainer. He worked at General Dynamics for many years, at Brown and Root and he retired from Bell Helicopter.

Preston was an active member of Tolar Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for many years. After retirement, he worked at the church doing whatever was needed until he was 90 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Dollarhide, daughter: Becky Lewis and his brother.

Preston is survived by his children: Beverly Harwell and husband Bill of Kirbyville, Kathy Ives and husband Paul of Tolar, Karla Tramel and husband Paul of Granbury, and Carol Rasberry and husband Jeff of Tolar, son-in-law: David Lewis, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
