U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
August Pfluger II was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, from the 11th District. After attending Central High School in San Angelo, Pfluger attended the Air Force Academy, and later served in active duty for 20 years, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic and the current jobs crisis has created unprecedented delays at a number of federal agencies, including at the IRS. Tax returns this year are expected to be a lengthier and more difficult process.
In an effort to keep your money in your pocket, I want to share some important information that may help make this process easier for you and your family.
Here are a few helpful tips to make sure you receive your tax return in a timely fashion:
— Use your year-end income statements (Form W-2 or 1099) to verify your income.
— Double check that your information is correct for yourself and your dependents.
— Attach all forms and required tax schedules before you submit your return.
— Check for all credits and deductions for which you may be eligible.
— File electronically. Electronic filing is the most efficient way to file your taxes, but be sure you are filing 2021 information, as software may automatically import information from prior years.
