PECAN PLANTATION BITS

A Mississippi native who has been a Texas transplant for 27 years, Diane Long is a wife, mother, and English teacher who has written Pecan Plantation Bits for 14 years cumulatively. She spends her time both gathering neighborhood news and teaching students how to avoid passive voice.

Tonight, Saturday, Aug. 21, brings Casino Night to Pecan Plantation. Cocktails from 6 to 7 p.m. will begin the evening with tables open from 7 to 10 p.m.

The night will include food, action stations, music, and “funny money;” attendees will wear wristbands for access. Reservations are needed, and seating is limited.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

My dear neighbor Pat Anderson recently celebrated a happy occasion- her 80th birthday. Her children honored her with a gathering of friends and family to remember years past and laud Pat’s life. Happy birthday, Pat, and many, many more!
