GHS track runs at Joshua
The Granbury track and field teams traveled to the Joshua Owls Relays last Friday.
The Pirate boys varsity finished in sixth place, while the JV boys came in 10th. The girls varsity finished in 11th and the JV was 12th.
Junior Colton Brown brought home the lone gold for the Pirates, posting a 2:01.69 to win the varsity 800 meters.
Junior Clayton Smith finished second in the varsity 1600 meters with a time of 4:53.82. Bryan Williams added another silver for the varsity with a 6-04 in the high jump.
Smith won another medal for the varsity with a bronze in the 3200 meters, finishing with a time of 10:35.38. Zach Watson finished fourth in the varsity long jump with a 20-10.
Nathan Wisely won silver for the JV, finishing second with a 2:07.27 in the 800 meters.
In the girls events, Edith Valdez brought home bronze in the varsity 3200 meters with a time of 13:10.83. Valdez had another top-five finish in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:07.00.
Freshman Landry Basil had a pair of fifth-place varsity finishes, posting a 17-04 in the long jump and a 1:03.82 in the 400 meters.
Lauren Wilde won bronze for the JV in the 300 meters with a time of 14:05.00.
The Pirates and Lady Pirates will compete again Thursday at the Optimist Relays in Stephenville.
