GISD middle schools offering soccer, tennis teams
Beginning next month, Granbury ISD will offer competitive high soccer and tennis teams for seventh and eighth grade students.
The sports open Monday, April 6. A parent information meeting will take place March 17 at the Granbury High School auditorium. The tennis meeting is at 5:30 p.m. and the soccer meeting is at 6 p.m.
Practices, games and tournaments for both sports will be after school from 4:45-5:45 p.m. at Granbury Middle School and Acton Middle School. The evening activity bus will be available at 6 p.m.to take students home.
Students will be responsible for their own soccer shin guards and tennis racquets.
Students must also complete an athletic physical before participating.
At AMS, Jacob Herbold will coach the soccer team, and Landry Mullins will lead the tennis program. Edgar Sanchez will head the soccer program at GMS, and Karl Kreusel will coach tennis.
Parents of students interested in one or both sports should complete a short online form at granburyisd.org/gisdsoccertennis.
