Golfers ace No. 5, 8 at Pecan

Two golfers gained bragging rights at the Pecan Plantation County Club when they made aces. Gwen Ware made a 139-yard shot to a hole-in-one in hole No. 8, while Sancy Joyce-Brown landed her 96-yard shot for a hole-in-one on hole No. 5.

MAKING MASKS

Members of Elizabeth Crocket Chapter of DAR will be helping with the shortage of medical masks by handmaking them. These masks will go to the hospital and doctors offices in Hood County. They are encouraging others to join the efforts in keeping our health care workers safe.

RANCHO BRAZOS DONATIONS

The Rancho Brazos community is in need of donations. Items needed include to-go boxes, all-purpose cleaners and wipes, and paper towels. If you are able to donate, you can do so by dropping items off at the community center. RALLY PROJECT

Memorial Day weekend holds a special place in the hearts of many. This gratitude is displayed each year during Field of Flags, and 2020 marks year number nine. Opening ceremonies will begin at 2 p.m. On Saturday, May 23. Join us in honoring our fallen soldiers.

CHOIR NOT TO BE SILENCED

The Granbury Civic Chorus has officially canceled the spring concert due to COVID-19 and the restrictions it has placed on social gatherings. Two truckloads of donations went from the health science classrooms to the hospital thanks to Superintendent Jeremy Glenn. Hand sanitizers, masks, gowns and other medical equipment was donated to the school by LGMC for educational purposes. All of these items are going back to the source to help aid in the efforts to keep our health care professionals safe.

100 CLUB

The Chisolm Trail 100 Club has announced the availability of the 2020 MAAD Hunter Venture Capital Group Inc. Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is available to graduating seniors of first responders. It also allows for opportunity to receive the same amount each year of college, up to four years.
