Granbury track hosts Johnny Perkins Relays

The Granbury Pirate and Lady Pirate track teams hosted the Johnny Perkins Relays on Thursday.

The varsity boys team came in fourth place, while the JV boys finished third.

Competitors had to finish in the top six to earn points for their schools. Granbury varsity teams earned points in the following events:

Boys 110 meter hurdles: Mateo Tort (1st), 14.69

Boys 300 meter hurdles: Mateo Tort (2nd), 40.20; Clayton Kracy (3rd), 31.65

Girls 1600 meters: Edith Valdez (2nd), 5:47.52

Boys 3200 meters: Clayton Smith (2nd), 10:03.86

Girls 3200 meters: Edith Valdez (3rd), 12:41.37

Boys 1600 meters: Clayton Smith (3rd), 4:37.03

Boys 4x200 meter relay: Tyrel Frost, Dalton Loter, Noah Russell and Darrius Evans 1:36.11

Girls 4x400 meter relay: Amy Adams, Kassidy Kirkpatrick, Avery Coffman and Emily Dolan (4th), 4:31.19

Boys 4x100 meter relay: Mateo Tort, Noah Russell, Darrius Evans and Tyrel Frost (5th), 44.31

Girls 800 meters: Keri Kittleson (5th), 2:32.89

Standouts for the junior varsity included Ryan Baker, who won the boys 800 meters, and Brooks Pearce, who took gold in the boys 100 meter hurdles. Kailyn Burrell was second in the JV girls 100 meters, beating teammate Shakayla Harps by .12 seconds, and both girls were part of the 4x200 meter relay team that finished second.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will next travel to the Ennis Meet on Friday, March 20.
