Lipan Indians in regional semifinal Friday night

Saturday, March 7, 2020

The Lipan Indian boys basketball team took on Graford in the UIL Class 1A Region III semifinal at Mansfield Legacy High School Friday.

Lipan entered as the No. 16 team in Class 1A according to the final Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll. Graford was ranked No. 2.

The Indians have beaten Graford at the regional tournament in each of the last three seasons.

The winner of Lipan-Graford moved on to play either No. 9 Eula or No. 5 Slidell in the regional final, which will be held today at 2 p.m. at Legacy High. Slidell is the defending state champion, and eliminated Lipan in the regional final last year.

The regional champ will play at the state tournament next week.
