GRANT MCGALLIARD | HOOD COUNTY NEWS MAKING A MOVE: Grace Jones prepares to attack the basket during the Tolar Lady Rattlers’ game at Glen Rose Tuesday. Jones made two three-pointers for a team-high six points as Tolar lost 46-11.

Offensive woes lead to Tolar girls’ loss

The Tolar Lady Rattlers jumped out to an early lead against Glen Rose before struggling in the second half in a 46-11 road loss Tuesday.

Tolar led 8-2 with 4:40 left in the first quarter after three-pointers from Grace Jones and Shaely Nunley and a putback layup from Aubrie Sibley.

But turnovers and missed opportunities plagued the Lady Rattlers’ offense from that point on. Tolar scored three points in the second quarter on a Jones three that cut the Glen Rose lead to 17-11. The Lady Rattlers were held scoreless for the rest of the game.

Glen Rose is a top-five team in Class 4A in the latest Texas Girls Basketball Coaches Association poll.

The loss dropped Tolar to 3-3 this season. The Lady Rattlers are competing in the Dublin Tournament this weekend.
