Rattlers headed to area track

The Tolar Rattlers will send 12 entries to the area track meet after qualifying at the District 7-3A Meet last week, held at Jacksboro High School.

Brett Jackson will compete in two events for the varsity boys after winning the 300 meter hurdles (40.45) and earning silver in the 110 meter hurdles (15.01). Colton Tuggle also earned a gold and a silver, winning the long jump (20-03.25) and finishing second in the high jump (6-00.00).

Mason King will advance in two events, after finishing fourth in both the discus (124-07) and the shot put (44-00.75). Wesley Miller finished fourth in the pole vault (12-06.00) to make it to area.

For the Lady Rattlers, Alicia Hamm came in second in the high jump (4-10.00) and fourth in the long jump (15-04.75). Avery McClain added another silver in the pole vault (9-06.00). Kaitlyn Morphew will move on in the 400 meters after finishing fourth (1:05.28).

The girls 4x400 relay team of Morphew, Hamm, Grace Jones and Emma Brown came in fourth with a 4:23.06 to qualify for area.

The area competition will also be held at Jacksboro, and will take place Monday, April 15.
