Softball beats Boswell
The Granbury Lady Pirate Softball Tournament was cancelled last week, forcing the Lady Pirates to play at Saginaw Boswell Friday night as a replacement game.
Alison Cooper allowed just one hit and struck out 12 to lead Granbury to a 1-0 win. The Lady Pirates had 13 strikeouts but were able to break through in the top of the sixth inning.
Brianna Langer opened the inning with a triple. Cooper had a bunt single, and Langer stayed at third. Two batters later, Lillian Williams laid down a bunt that scored Langer for the game’s only run.
The win moved Granbury to 9-4-2. The Lady Pirates hosted Burleson Centennial Tuesday and play Crowley on the road Friday at 7:30 p.m.
