Tolar boys, girls enjoy road sweep of Boyd
The Tolar Rattlers and Lady Rattlers both blew out Boyd at home Tuesday.
The Rattlers (1-3 District 7-3A) jumped out to a 15-2 lead over Boyd after the first quarter and never looked back, winning each quarter en route to a 61-38 victory. Tolar forced Boyd into 31 turnovers, and every Rattler on the roster had at least one steal.
Matt Moody led with 12 points, and Brett Jackson and Seth Carroll each had
10. Blake Cason had team highs with five assists and five steals, and Justin Berry grabbed eight rebounds, seven of them offensive.
The Lady Rattlers earned their second District 7-3A win with a 46-29 beating of Boyd and improved to 2-4 in district.
Tolar has never won more than two games in district play since the Lady Rattlers moved up to Class 3A in the 2016-17 season. The last time Tolar had more than two wins was an 11-1 district season in 2014-15, when the Lady Rattlers were in District 10-2A and made the first round of the playoffs.
The Rattlers and Lady Rattlers played Millsap at home Friday.
They’ll stay in Tolar for games against Paradise Tuesday, with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m.
