To Submit to the CalendarInformation should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event for consideration.  The Community Calendar is a free listing in the Hood County News to inform readers of programs, special meetings and nonprofit events. The event should be open to the public and free to attend. Email the who, what, when and where. Include the meeting location and a street address for the location. The topic for the meeting, program or guest speaker must be included. Email to calendar@hcnews.com. Calendar information runs in chronological order as space is available.

Election Connection open house will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hood County Annex 1 Meeting Room located at 1410 W. Pearl St. in Granbury. Join the Hood county Elections Department to learn about how the equipment works; getting involved; learn more about the elections administration staff; national voter registration day info; logic and accuracy testing and more.

Lake Granbury Newcomers Club’s next meeting will take place on Thursday, Sept. 7.  Reservation deadline to attend is Thursday, August 31 at noon. Starting a New Life is a grief support group for those who have lost a loved one through death. This includes the loss of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or close friend. For the past 26 years this group has helped people work through their grief process. If you, or someone you know, is suffering from the loss of a loved one, come or bring them to our next session that began March 19,2023.
