“Silent Prey” has found its way home to Shanley Park. The bronze sculpture weighing 6,000 pounds and by Covelle Jones arrived via flatbed Wednesday morning and was hoisted into its perfect placement with a crane. The impressive piece depicts a Comanche warrior on horseback being attacked by a puma. It now commands a prominent spot on Shanley Park lawn directly behind Granbury City Hall.
Across the bridge, near the Hood County Library and close to the Hike and Bike Trail, stands another beautiful bronze sculpture by Covelle Jones titled "Black Star." This piece represents a Comanche healer and wise woman, originally from the area, and was also placed earlier on Wednesday morning.
