The Granbury City Council led a busy meeting Jan. 21, when 29 residents were appointed to serve on various city boards, commissions and committees.

Granbury Airport has set its aims sky high with its new luxury airport expansion. Already underway and set to be completed in two phases, the $60 million project is anticipated to take Granbury’s already bustling aviation scene to the stratosphere — and Granbury’s economy right along with it.

The Catholic Charities of Fort Worth’s LIFT program has helped hundreds of DFW residents achieve financial stability since its conception in 2019, and now the organization is putting a special emphasis on expanding into the more rural parts of the metroplex — including Hood County.

The Voice of Granbury’s “Main Show” returns for its seventh year at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Granbury Live, and will feature 10 of Granbury’s most talented musicians. Each will compete for the chance to become the true Voice of Granbury — and to win a hefty cash prize of $350.

A long time ago (Jan. 17), in a galaxy far, far away (the Pecan Plantation clubhouse), the Granbury Association of REALTORS® hosted its 2025 Installation and Awards Banquet. Featuring a cocktail hour and a delicious dinner from Pecan Plantation’s own Chef Jordon Ray, the members of the GAR were met with a night of celebration, shoptalk and Star Wars.

Tuesday, friends of Julia and Bob Pannell, along with the dedicated leaders of Granbury’s community, filed into the lavish N on the Square to dedicate its recently opened parlor in honor of the Pannells’ years of service to Granbury’s community.

On the outskirts of town, tucked away in the hills along U.S. Highway 377, golf-pro Sean Daly is building a dream golfer’s hideaway.

Courtney Current is one of Granbury’s most beloved Renaissance women. As the owner of Concho Hearts Hospice and member of many city boards and councils such as the Granbury Chamber of Commerce, Autism Speaks and the Alzheimer's Association, Current’s busy schedule has solidified her as one of Granbury’s most prominent figures. However, Current was forced to slow down in February 2024 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma.

It was a joyous day of celebration for many Hood County Republicans Jan. 20, following the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, Granbury City Council unanimously approved a contract with engineering firm Enprotec/Hibbs & Todd to relocate water and sewer lines along the rights-of-way on U.S. Highway 377 and U.S. Highway 144.

Residents and visitors alike will be shaking their maracas next month, as eight local hunks bring the spice and the charm to compete for one of the most coveted titles in Hood County: the next Handsome Hunk.

George Freeman, an attorney at the Hyde Law Firm, presented a preliminary request to the Hood County Commissioners Court last week to use the second-floor courtroom in the historical courthouse for the Granbury Miracle Project.
