In some of my past columns I have mentioned my old and dear friend, Miss Jayne. It is hard to describe Miss Jayne as she is one unique character. We first met at church where upon my first visit she reached out to me and asked me to come and join the Bible study she attended. She was friendly, outgoing and carried herself well. I learned she had lost her husband some five years prior, and she and her son lived together just a block or two away from my residence.

Seems like most everyone is angry these days, especially when it comes to any discussion even remotely related to “data centers.” There are a lot of concerns and a lot of confusion as to what authority cities and counties have been granted to regulate these entities.

This past week I had a very interesting experience: one that still makes my head shake.

On the night of April 2, a person or a group of persons broke into the Decker Gym. The gym is the home of the United Way of Hood County, a charitable organization which serves our community in a variety of ways.

Music is an important part of all of our lives. One of the most beautiful things about music is that with so many different genres and styles there is something for almost everyone. Many people have a love affair with one style of music. It might be rock and roll, country, pop, hip hop or any of all the other categories. Some of us like music so much our playlists may have a vast mixture of genres from classical, to jazz, to country and rock and roll. 

Friendship is one of the most meaningful and enriching parts of human experience. People often focus their attention on achievements such as career success, financial stability or personal accomplishments. The presence of strong and supportive friendships frequently plays an even greater role in determining how satisfying life feels.
