Best of the Best to be honored

Welcome to “The Big Easy.”

The annual Granbury Chamber of Commerce awards banquet will have a Cajun theme Friday, March 1. The Big Easy is a nickname for New Orleans and has been adopted as the theme for the evening.

Each year, the Chamber of Commerce celebrates its Best of Business Awards with a night of feasting and festivities. Members have been casting votes for their peers in business. Winners will be honored at the banquet.

Boots and jeans will be the attire for the evening that features a

■ Business Woman of the Year

■ Large Business of the Year

■ Small Business of the Year

■ Cornerstone Business

■ Rising Star Business

■ Ambassador of the Year

■ Director of the Year

■ Volunteer of the Year

The public is invited to join this bayou celebration at the Lake Gran-bury Conference Center beginning at 7 p.m.

Individual tickets are $100 per person. Tables and sponsorships are also available. Contact Rachael Hedge, events director, at 817-573-1622 for information. Zydeco band, hurricane cocktails, both live and silent auctions, and a special Cajun-themed dinner catered by Hard Eight add to the fun.

Each year, nominations are received for businesses and individuals that have set the standard of business excellence and exceptional community service in Granbury and Hood County.

The awards are presented to those who represent the best of the best in the area nominated by their peers, including the following categories:

■ Business Man of the Year
