Firefighters respond to Acton Middle School

Posted

Firefighters from the deCordova Bend Estates/Acton Volunteer Fire Department responded when a blown transformer caused smoke that set off an alarm at Acton Middle School Monday morning, according to Granbury ISD Information Officer Jeff Meador.

The smoke primarily accumulated in an art room next to the library, in the central part of the main building, Meador noted.

There were no injuries or fire damage reported.

GISD's summer school students, including those who attend AMS, are all attending classes at Granbury High School. Meador said that there were only two people in the AMS building at the time of Monday's incident, and both were members of the school's administrative staff.
