GPD: Juvenile charged with felony

A juvenile in custody in the Lake Granbury Youth Services Center on Crossland Road in Granbury who used his fist to strike a detention officer several times was charged with a third-degree felony, according to Granbury Police Department Deputy Chief of Police Cliff Andrews.

Andrews stated in an email response to the HCN that the detention officer suffered “minor injuries only” in the incident, which occurred about two weeks ago.

The charge filed against the juvenile is “assault against a government employee or contractor,” Andrews noted, adding that the “offense was reported to juvenile probation.”

Names of juveniles charged with most crimes are not released.
