Hood County reports six new

COVID-19 deaths since March 5

Hood County has had six more COVID-19-related deaths since the county’s last update issued on March 5.

The death toll for Hood County now stands at 121, according to the update issued Monday morning by Hood County Emergency Management Coordinator Jay Webster.

At that time, there was only one reported COVID-19 hospitalization for Hood County.

New cases reported for March totaled 128, and there were 274 active cases within the county.

Those diagnosed with COVID-19 who do not require hospitalization are directed to self isolate at home.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 6,307 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Hood County residents.

Those who have not registered to receive a vaccine can do so through the county’s website (www.co.hood.tx.us) or by calling the Hood County Vaccination Phone Bank at 682-936-4787.
