LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Posted

Two peaceful, safe protests on the square with fantastic protection, thanks to our county and city law enforcement!

The planning meetings between DPS Hood County emergency manager Jay Webster should reassure our residents of their professionalism and concern for us.

A special thanks to Police Chief Mitch Galvan as he stood with us both days. He and fellow law enforcement gave up their weekend and listened to the personal heartrending stories and cries from people of various colors. A response to the brutal murder of George Floyd committed by four members of their own profession. It had to have been difficult to hear but they continued to show respect to the protesters.

We can all have more appreciation and confidence in the safety of our community from now on.
